Men in Menstruation
Menstruation and needs around it receive little focus; the needs of those who menstruate remain unsaid and hence not understood by boys and young men. Many are nervous about menstruation, whether acknowledging it, speaking about it or comfortably buying menstrual products for their family members or friends. Ironically the word “men” appears in the spelling of menstruation and it is here that the matter comes to a full stop! The subject is seen as “not my business” although connected to every man, through a grandmother, mother, sister, girl friend, wife, daughter, niece or aunt.
